This is how my kx turned out finished it this morning and went out on her today and it went great. The last thing to do is install the new head when it arrives from Stewart, It has the compression release done by Larry. Must thank these guys as they are dealing with me in Scotland UK and it no problem for them so thanks again. Also I am getting a black tank from Stewart so shortly the bike will be going over to the dark side

Hey CB,
Great work, I would be afraid to take it out ! 8-)
Maybe next winter I'll tear my 2000 apart again and get her all dolled up. Or... I can just swipe your pictures! :-o
Just Kidding... My Boss would not look kindly on swiping anything!
I am putting the photo's away with the rest of my "Motivational" Pic's

Thanks for that Tuck but the bike is to be used, it was fun getting it to look like this but its more fun getting out on it. here is proof from today. The bike is going to be used for MX so that will soon take the shine of it  here is a picture of my mate on it he is a honda man and found it a bit of a handfull. To used to a crf450 but he is rebuilding a Cr500 and also making a cr hybrid , Our other mate has also made a Cr hybrid so there will be three 500 racing at our club but I must admit the 500 requires a different riding style to the fourstrokes so I need to learn fast

Hi there Fritz got them from www.factorybacking.com in the States to be honest most of the parts other than plastics and original Kawa parts came from the States they still look out for the Kx500 which is good

i must say i am very impressed with the way your bike has turned out, it reminds me that i need to post pics of my motard?!
-
cbmoor a few comments, in your initial pics let me say WOW ! fantastic looking restoration !
my second comment in looking at your chain it looks like you have ZERO chain slack ? This is a BAD practice and as the swingarm moves upwards through it's arc stroke the chain will tighten. You could very easily granade your rear hub, i've seen this happen first hand (especially in a moist sand race )
IMO it's always better to have a little extra chain slack, than a chain that's too tight.
-
Wow, nice job! Where did you get the decals? 8-)
-
Unless it's a brand new chain which it very well could be . I know they will stretch , they will stretch alot . You just have to take it easy for the first 20 minutes or so , couple good gooses and she will loosen up for ya.
-
Great job! Please post some pictures with the black tank.
Great bike and great to see it in action.
-
Thanks for the concern Poler-bus but not to worry the chain did have enough slack in it before the bike was taken to the track all the chain rollers and swingarm gaurd was new as was the chain. the Kx soon lossened it up even more
UZI 9mm The graphics are FX EVO and I got the off e-Bay in the states there are still some on there just type in KX500 graphics in the search option and they should come up

Thanks! 8-)
