Not my video and no KX's but this is an area where we ride in Nevada! It's a place called APEX and every now and then you find yourself in a world of s**t! Please enjoy the vid!

I miss Vegas.

maybe I'm just a wuss, but that just plain did not look like fun. Unless you are some sort of Sado masicist( I don't know how to spell that) S&M for short. Why try to beat the heck out of yourself and machine? Nevadans are way tougher! :-o

i ride apex all the time on my quad and kx500. its gnarly terrain, but alot of fun. the places these dudes were getting into are nasty, much respect to them.

Pegg,
Wow man, That is tough going.. and on a big bike. Have you considered a steering stabilizer?
Your'e a far Better man than me McGee! I wish I had it in me.
There is a group on the CR500 site that get together in AZ for that kind of stuff, and well, some easy riding for broke down guys like me.
Let The Good Times Roll! or should I say... You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda

I got suckered in on one ride because I mistakenly followed a goat trail. Not trying to be funny. There are quite a few "Big Horns" that leave trails behind around here that look like old offroad trails. There are some signs after awhile that tell you that you are on a goat trail...like no black tire marks on the rocks for one. By the time you realize that you've screwed up it's too late! You're committed with no way to turn around or get back up the mountain. It turns into a survival game! When you are on top of a ridge line looking down 2 or 3 thousand feet and you see a canyon wash below you don't realize how bad it can get getting down to it until you've made that mistake once or twice. The top of the mountains are less rocky when you start out and this also fools some riders. The bigger rocks and drop-offs are usually mid way or at the bottom of the mountains because of gravity pulling rocks and debris downward making it harder and harder as you progress. The guys in the video are part of the Motorcycle Racing Association of Nevada (MRAN), "Wild Bunch" M/C and "Jackrabbits" M/C, they're a tough bunch!
As to the poster that said he likes more than 1st and 2nd gear rides... come on out to Nevada! We can go fast and catch some air here too; bring your gear, it's mostly rock!

I see quite a few 500's out there on some days. I usually ride with a KX500 rider on an older steel frame and a 2010 YZF450 rider that has white plastic. Most of the time I'm on my KX500AF but have been seen often on a RMZ450 or an RM250 and when I'm feeling lazy my son's CRF250R. Swing on by sometime or shoot me a PM.

"Real Riding" Yeah right. Looks like alot of pushing and being beat to heck by rocks.

Most Nevada riding is not like this! It's just what happens sometimes when you make a bad call which is usually hindsight.

If you ever are in Vegas shoot me a PM. Maybe between the two of us we can stay out of trouble... probably not!

Pegger. We plan to ride in Searchlight this Sunday with some KX500s. Should have three of them plus some KTMs and other bikes mixed in. Excellent riding. Some of the best singletrack I ever been on.

Never ridden Searchlight. Time and some parking directions when you get a chance. I'll ask the rest of the crew if they're interested and let you know.
Thanks, Pete

Sunday morning, aprox 8:30 meet up either at the Nugget Casino in the center of Searchlight, and wait till we come by. We turn right on the road to Nipton and park down a powerline/mining road to the south. Its right where a ranch entrance is to the north, About a mile from Searchlight or so.
Usually ride to Cal Nevari for lunch and then to the Chevron near the turn off for Laughlin. About a good 50 miles or so we end up doing. Some of the best dirt and single track I have been on.
