Title: Exhaust valve timing??
Post by: IcemanK5 on February 20, 2010, 07:47:30 AM
I was wanting to check the timing on the exhaust valves.
I don't see the adjusting valve on the motor. Can someone help with the location??

Thanks Kurt

you can remove the little kips rod cover on the bottom of cylinder [clutch side]  start  engine to see if the rod is moving when you rev it high
the valve  can be checked by removing exhaust and visually checking valves are moving while manual pullling kips rod

the only adjustment that should  be needed is the ballbearing mod to stop the  kips valve overclosing [kawasaki effort at a decompressor] do a search there is a alot of detailed info  http://www.kxriders.com/forums/index.php/topic,1367.0.html
