Here in the uk to register a off road bike you need the frame and engine numbers to match so that you can get a certificate of newness. Ive been restoring my 1988 kx 500 for the road in Super Moto form :-D, now ive got the frame number but ive only got a 1988 kx250 f1 motor this is becouse a certain wifof the chap i got the bike from disposed
of it in a seperation  I have mailed kawasaki uk and they want a matching pair of numbers witch i have not got :-o is there anyway via database or something similar that i can get the engine number to match the frame number so i can get it road registered :? :?

in the us kawasaki didnt keep track of engine numbers (as far as i know). when you redgestyer it how would they know it is not the origanal?

Maybe by "matching" they mean "correct number sequence" that shows that motor was produced the same year as the frame. Possibly eliminating modified/ unsafely fabricated chasis's. Like doing something crazy like sticking a kx500 in a moped chassis.

the numbers have to be a 'pair'. i recently rang kawasaki uk, gave them the frame and engine numbers which numerically didnt match, but they told me they were a matching pair and sent me a cert of newness. Hope you get sorted
