Title: Hello from Acworth, Georgia!
Post by: kcampbe on January 29, 2010, 11:26:00 AM
Hi!

I wanted to introduce myself and say thank you in advance for all of the great information and insight I know I'll gain here just from my brief tour of the site.

My name is Kevin.  I'm 48 and I've been riding motorcycles about 2 years - mostly street.  To introduce my sons to riding I bought them a 2003 KX100 and that's what brought me to the site.  I've been looking for a trail bike (no MX for this old guy) and have been considering a KX250 2t with the appropriate mods as I've been very pleased with the KX100 and am shocked at how it will move my 6' 240lb body around.

Our KX100 has a ProCircuit Platinum exhaust with a shorty silencer which we'll be changing to something quieter VERY soon.  Not sure about carb jetting and such, but the bike will move.

I look forward to learning from your experience and wisdom.

Kevin

Welcome to the site. My youngsters also have a 2003 KX100 and they love it. The oldest one is ready for something taller and the youngest for something shorter, so on goes the KX85 wheels for the short one.

Welcome to the site. Your just south of me maybe 30 mintues. I live in Calhoun. A KX250 2-stroke would be a perfect choice for yourself. You can find pretty good deals on used bikes a this time.

 Welcome KC,
Glad you found us, I would Highly Recommend finding some time to get together
With hughes for a bit.  An Hour hanging out with someone willing to help clears things up greatly, who knows, they might take you out to their favorite riding area and show you some good trails.  or have kids around the same age.  :-)

Welcome KC,

As a fellow newbie, I can guarantee the folks here are friendly, and full of great advice.  So keep the questions coming, and keep hosing off the red clay, or scraping, or blasting, or cussing...
