Title: Cold Weather & Two Stroke oils Question.

 I Was wondering what advice you would give someone riding in temps below 45deg f.    Is it just a matter of checking the label on your favorite Pre-Mix or do you look for SnoMobile oils.
    When I brought this up to an aquaintence the only thing I had to back up my statement was some oils were "Not recommended for injection"  or "Cold Weather"
and some labels didn't even address the issue.

 Apparently it has dipped down in the 30's  :-o
  Way to cold for this Curmudgeon to be riding in anymore...   I feel this has also messed with jetting on the bike.

This is a good topic also ... My motor blew at temps around 40 deg ...   but tearing into the bike I found out it was just time .. but if there is a temperature that you should start mixing something else I would like to know for future reference ....  thanks guys ..

me and several friends ice race our bikes, so temps can be all the way down below zero, we all use bel-ray mc-1 in the dirt and use the same thing on the ice, never changed anything but the jetting and no problems at all.

I know there are some oils out there that can't be run in cold weather , but I can't remember which ones they are I think Benoil & R50 are out of the question because at the time that was what I was running. I went to Klotz snowmobile oil for the cold months, but that was years ago when I was younger and HEALED FASTER :-D.CBX

don't run 927 below 40.

I also ice raced and rode my bike in below zero weather.  I recall that any type of bean oil (castor) was out as it would not mix well and separate faster than normal.   I never had any issues (mc-1) and other than jetting ran the same 85:1 on the ice as I ran for mx. For cold weather they use a different injector oil that pours better in cold weather. Cam.

      It does apparently have something connected to the castor oils.
