Title: Procircuit Platinum 2 Pipe and Jetting
Post by: blueoval on December 08, 2009, 04:08:43 PM
I have a procircuit platinum 2 pipe and a FMFturbine core silencer.  Does any one on here run that pipe?  With that pipe would you use the jetting chart as a starting point with this pipe?  I ask because the jetting chart for the K5 uses a different pipe.  thx

Procircuit often has suggested jetting on their website.  I would still recommend the chart as a great starting point. Cam.

This is off the pro circuit website. There was no specs for  2000 but was for '01

Main   pilot  needle      clip position  Air Screw   slide cutaway
KX5 stock       168   58       N82M       3RD           2                 7
Pro Circuit   STD      55      STD      2ND              1 3/4

  I have a P.C. Platinum and Turbine Core  8-)

  We ride between 3500'-5500'   I have a 2000 my Buddy has a '99.
This may appear lean, however there is alot of slow-going up here.
  158 main  52 pilot 3rd clip and airscrew  11/2    40:1
(air screw and clip position depend on weather/season/temps)
Singletrack, fire road's, very little WOT, some pretty good hillclimbs.
I run one heat range hotter plug than Mike, as he rides much harder than me.

There are a bazillion opinions on jetting, save yourself a few bucks and get one jet down and and two up from the chart and see how she runs.
As long as you don't have too hot (modified) of an engine you should be in good shape.
The leaner jet if you get out in some hot or higher elevation, and the two larger jets for
 cooler temps/or coast/lower elevations, etc.
But Like I said... that's just another of the Bazillion Opinions
