Title: Need info on the 2004 KX250 motor.

Why did Kawi change their motor for 2004 then go away from it in 2005? Was there known problems with it or what are the differences between the 04 and 05-07 motors?

It was the last year for that style engine. I think its basic design came out in 92 and it was updated pretty much every year until 04. No major problems with them. They were probably at the limit with the older engine as far as improvements go. The 05 up engine is completely new and shares little to nothing with the older engine.
