Title: Honda's out to pasture.
Post by: Danger4u2 on November 17, 2009, 01:57:11 AM
Out riding with the Honda crew.  So I broke out the '97 CR500R.  This is the Black Trail here in Okc.  We ran an average pace.  26 miles took 2 hours 10 minutes.  Gene was on his "new to him" '07CRF450.  Terry and Nate on their XR400's.

Man you have the terrain.  If you look at my picture the trees are taller than the hills.

Your trails look fun.

That trail that day was no place fro the XR since I added that Pig tank,,,it gets hot,,,300+ degrees,,,I was wishing I'd not left the KX in the pickup.

I've been a Honda fan since I was 12 years old.  Never could figure why they make the street version of the 650 air cooled?
There were 4 guys on 650L's last week at the Hillbilly Dual Sport ride in Arkansas.
That's one monster tank you got there.  Nice bike.

You got a name for your XR? If not I'd like to suggest the "Exxon Valdez".

Hey ID KX500,

Diablo, That was in the S. Fork of the Boise river area. From that ridge you can see th Sawtooth Mt. range. It is close to a small town called Featherville, Idaho. Did I read you are planning to come up to the St Anthony dunes? If you do post when you'll be there and I'll join you for a spin around the dunes. I want to see if my Christini can climb Choke Cherry.

I swapped out my XR600R motor this winter for a XR650L for the e-start. It was a pain in the @$* and I don't reccomend it,,,but I'm happy now. Took a ride posted here:  http://www.motoidaho.org/node/339

I've been calling my KX a kExxon Valdez when its got its huge four gallon tank on it, seems quite fitting.
