I just picked up a 500 where the engine case on the sprocket side had a chain rerail and break the arm where the clutch comes up and the entire round piece of the case. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? I looked at motosport.com but they only show the clutch side of the case not the sprocket side.... HELP!

Yikes...
This was the very reason I got my bike in a couple boxes. The P.O gave up and sold his bike. The cheapest way to go is picking up the part is ebay.
Here is the supplier for service honda

Jeez, I didn't even pay that for the bike. Maybe I'll just part it out and try to buy something that isn't broken.....
-
Keep checking ebay. I picked up a set of cases for my 87 for $16 each.
-
Kawasaki sells cases as a matched set, at least they used to maybe you can buy them individually now. Supposedly the cases are line bored together and you get true cases.

Are you looking for a set.
-
Yes, I am looking for a set. I really don't want to buy new.

I have a set of 2001 cases that a good machinist can fix. It has a worn crank bearing journal. Or i have a 2003 that are in great shape. Or a 95 cases that are currently been running one of the motors.

I'll post a picture tomorrow.... How much do you want for the 2003 cases?

Here is a pic of the damage.

Johnny,
Those cases can be repaired. Are there any cracks in the
case other than the missing part?
Larry

Nope... no other cracks in the case. The bike has been sitting for 2 years just like this before I bought it. The piece that broke off is GONE.... the guy I bought it from didn't even bother trying to find it. Can it be repaired?
-
Johnny,
I've fixed worse. A TIG welder and milling machine can get you out of a lot of jams.
