Title: Back on Kawi in '09
Post by: abramztnk on October 17, 2009, 01:35:20 AM
Hi Folks,
John H. Drake from Inman, SC.   I am 42 and have been riding since I bought my own bike at age 10.  It was an 8 yo Honda XL 70 that was green....must be why I have a green bike obsession now.  I had another short stint on Hondas (XR650R and CR250) and just had my 2d KTM (250 EXC) stolen after riding Hatfield-McCoy, earlier in the month.  That mount is now replaced with an 07 KX 450F.  I still have an 08 KTM 450 XCR-W, which is now my street bike.....soon to be a SUMO.  I look forward to interaction will all of you.  My best bikes ever were my '91 KX 250 and my '99 ZX-9R.  I have yet to ride the KX 450, but have lavished some love on it, to get it ready.

Thanks,
John

 Welcome John,
My first bike also was a Honda SL 70, Those were some good times, sorry to hear about the loss of the EXC.  The Sumo guys are picking up some steam here, and as always, any other experience is great to have chime in.

Welcome John.  I too have owned a '91 KX250 which was a great bike.  The best engine mod to that was the addition of the "Boyesen" boost ports that Eric Gorr recommends.  Really woke that thing up in the low to mid range.  I also have a '00 ZX9.  Still dont have a need for a new liter bike as this thing screams enough for me.
Nice to have you on board and look forward to your input on the forums.

Thanks, Gents.  The pleasure is all mine.
