Title: First year of inverted forks?

Anybody know when they changed the front forks to inverted?

Just trying to figure what is stock on my new bike....

think it depends where you are - the uk its 1989.

i'm sure someone will be along soon to confirm its 1990 in the US of A

Grunty is correct, 1989 was the last of conventional forks 1990 & on inverted.

Thanks guys!  So I have a 1992 with stock forks...........now I just need to find out if the motor is stock or 1992

Anybody know how to read the motor numbers??

I thought it was 90 over here in the UK?

Both mine are 90s with the gold 41mm Kayabas.

Nope - inverted forks on an 1989 in the UK. 1988 had the RWU ones.

most of the guys saying its 1990 are stateside???

USA - 1989 Conventional, and they were considered to be a very god fork if I recall.

I have no idea about Europe.
