Title: Leaking head gasket
Post by: kiwikx500 on September 12, 2009, 10:51:21 AM
Have a slight leak in head gasket, torqued the head nuts down to what says in the clymer manual.

Had the bottom halved freshened by kawai dealer, been out about 5 times but was at least 8 months ago so getting bit long to be going back to dealer.

Read in another topic that if synthetic gasket used can blow round near head stems in time, maybe dealer used a synthetic
gasket. Anyways whats the best course of action please, take top head cover off and inspect ? Once they leak are they no good the gaskets ? (leaking mainly on one side)

Cheers

Can broken head gasket do this? When it warms it starts backfire and overfloatin pipe  drops coolingwater.
