What does a 89 or newer KX500 engine sell for?
Anyone out there want to get rid of one? :-D

The best way to get an engine for a project is to buy a complete 500 and part out the extra parts. I gave $900 for my 1994 KX 500 and sold the rear wheel for $200, front for $150, and parting everything else out on ebay. I have almost gotten my entire $900 back which means that the engine/carb/electrics were FREE!!! It's a little work and the engine needed a rebuild but hey... it was free. Good luck to you.

MUST SELL!!! a 1994 KX 500. needs a seal behind the front sprocket. The bike was running great two months ago. Just a little leak from the seal. The seal costs about $6 bucks I just haven't had time to fix it. I need the money so I'm in a mood to deal. You can get a great bad ass fast bike for cheap. Call Roy 832-221-9400.

I agree with the above post. I purchased a '93 K5 for $800 for the same reasons... 8-) I've seen motors alone go for close to that on the "bay".

AJ one of the guys building KX500AF's told me that due to the price of Kawasaki parts it costs Service Honda $2600.00 just in parts to build the engine
