My stock reeds are getting pretty tired, and I'm wondering about Boyesen Pro Series, as opposed to V-Force. I'm running a stock motor with a Power Now Insert and Zip Ty pipe, and I'm pretty happy with the way the bike runs, I'm just noticing it is getting harder to start and less "crisp". If anyone has tried both, can they comment on the differences between V-Force and Boyesen? Thanks! :|

Albertan,
I have used both in my KX250s & pleased with both. You get more with the VForce, but you also get a lighter wallet. It sounds like you have a K5 (ZipTy Pipe) & if you don't mind spending a bit more get the VForce as Stewart on this forum has done all of the testing on all of the different reed blocks. I purchased my K5 VForce (2 Series) from him directly. Shoot him a PM & it will be on your doorstep this week & it helps all members here on the forum.

Thanks for the input on the Boyesen Pro Series; did you have to rejet? If so, leaner or richer?

I used the Boysen RAD valve and now the Vforce in the 500. All 7 bikes in the garage now have V Force. Instant tuneable difference. Boysen was raspy, rich off the bottom. Vforce has a snap right off the bottom and bikes run clean. You get what you pay for.

Everywhere i look the rad valve is 20 to 30 dollars more for my KX500
