No one sells a bolt on.

Search for kickstand in this forum and there is one made from a Suzuki RMX I think that looks and works well.

The KDX unit works; however, it requires welding.

Rocky Mountain sells a bolt on kickstand.  About $80.  I have one, it works great.  It bolts (clamps) onto the swingarm.

Is this the one that bolts on with 3 bolts or clamps around?  Just to clarify!

I got a Scott's weld on kick stand. A plate gets welded to the swing arm, then the side stand bolts to the plate...just been afraid to weld onto the swingarm....Anyone tried the Scotts stand...?

Nope, I'm buildin' my own.  It'll be like the KTM stand but made of aluminum and I am going to try and make the little rubber catch out of really small gable.  Don't want to end up on my head...

Mine clamps on the swingarm with bolts.  Two on top; two on bottom.  It was made by Utah Powersports or something like that.

Might not be aesthetically pleasing to some.  But it's a dirtbike for god's sake!  If I wanted a fashion statement, I'd ride a Harley.  <BFG>

Isn't that the one that needs to be welded on?  I was under the impression this was common when the nuts stripped or wore.  I don't really know.  The price is right!!!

That is the one I had on my 500 until it broke. It is welded on. I'll have to buy another just for the leg.

What are the choices for kickstands out there?  I would prefer the clamp on but who's is best?

Check out this review of the PromotoBillet stand.  Well written with good points..

:D hey all, I've posted pictures of the kickstand I made for my KX500. The pics are in the gallery under 'members pics'  I made the stand out of quarter inch aluminum plate and the stand its self out of half inch aluminum plate. I welded the stuff together with aluminum rod, I'm not the best welder in the world but it worked. It really makes life alot better with a kickstand.

Dennis, that looks good!Great job,I havent looked into fabricating one yet,but does it look like you could run it higher under the side panel like the KTM's?Or would the tire hit it?

How far off of the swingarm is it.  Any chance it will hit?

VERY COOL STAND!!  I have been working on designing an aluminum stand for my 500, and your pictures gave me more ideas.  The one difference is that I plan to pivot my stand all the up under the number plate like the KTM stand, but I love the look or yours.

One question:  What spring did you use?

Thanks

Rick
