Title: who else is a heavyweight (330lbs). what gearing are you using sand/dirt
Post by: bennieben on August 25, 2009, 04:56:57 AM
also what tires are you using? dont really care what the 250lb and below crowd are using. just the true heavy weights. then again, ive never seen dudes my weight riding quads and dirtbikes either. im currently running 14/47 in the sandy, dirt trails...and 14/50 at the dunes with an eight paddle.

I'm only a skinny 225, but i bet you'll throw your gearing woes out the window with some suspension work.
Having the bike suspended for your size would far outweigh any gearing advantage.

You may likely already have that done...if so...........ignore by post

I'm 6'2" and 225 lbs, I over sprung my bike. I have the stiffest spring that race tech offers for the bike. It is a 6.8 kilogram spring I would like to sell it or trade it. I need a 5.8 kilogram spring. This spring is brand new it has been to the dunes five times at the most. If you called race tech they would tell that you need a 6.6 but the stiffest they have is a 6.4.  If any one is interested in helping me out please PM me.

I'm always at comp hill saturday morning on the big weekends. It's a thing I do, I wake up and sneak off by myself to the hill to shake the bike down and get the butterflies out. I'm easy to find, my bike is very distinct.

6' 1" & 330 pounds  :-o Holy Moly.....i thought you were gonna say 6' 6" or something.

I'm 6' 1" as well.....but a mere 220 ............. hopin to get to 205  :|

You're gonna need some suspension work done in a bad way  :-D

ive heard alot of people say that they need suspension, but ive had no problems. i can keep up with my buddies and the bike rides like a cadillac compared to my wr426. i hammer thru whoops beautifully and i love the bike. i dont do any jumping so that might be why. this is the most comfortable dirtbike i have ever ridden. i dont think ill be touching the suspension.

This was several years ago but.....a friend that was 350 lb special ordered gear from O'neal.

BTW......99% of you could not keep up with Clyde! He was FAST!!!
