Title: KX 250 Frame swap, what are suggested parts to replace?
Post by: kxgarage on July 09, 2009, 04:36:22 AM
I recently bent/cracked my frame, and I got a newly used frame after good advice from our fellow kxriders on this site...  thanks!

My question is, What types of things should I replace during the swap? (ie bushings, hoses rubber pieces, etc)  It is a 2000 kx250 model year.  What typically fails or gets lots of wear that is an easy fix when the bike is in pieces?

Also any ideas of where I can find a listing of torque settings for the bike? (forks, engine, swingarm, etc?)

your help is greatly appreciated

Was the old frame a 2000, and do you still have it? I need the engine cradle for a project bike if the underside of the frame rails aren't bashed up.

The Clymer manual normally has a chart at the end of each chapter with torque settings of the parts in that chapter
My KX is an 87 and happy to send them over, I dont think torque settings would change too much for the same items.
