Title: Difference between 95 and 96 kx250 barrel
Post by: MRO on June 15, 2009, 02:42:11 PM
I need a new barrel/cylinder for my 1996 kx250. I have just been quoted $400 for the 1995 cylinder and $1050 for the 1996 cylinder (figures are in Aussie $$).

What is the difference between the two?
Is it just that 1996 has the Nikasil bore?

All help appreciated - i am anxious to get back on the dirt again.

Thanks
Morgan

woah, 1050, There's no hope for fixing the one you have? They can usually weld up damage and re plate for way cheaper, even with lots of damage. I don't know if there is a difference between the years. I am sure they are both plated.
