Does any body know where to buy the crank aligning tool that the Clymer manual states you need when putting the crankcases back together?
Is there an aftermarket version or can another tool be used?
Also, the manual states the cases must be pressed together with a Hydraulic press, is this necessary or can a normal crankcase splitter (in reverse) be used?

Hi Kxracer
Are you referring to two different aspects of re-assembling your KX?
The crankshaft does need an aligning tool and a press however the crankcases would not appreciate being pressed together with a hydraulic press. In fact you will end up with a whole lot of little pieces of crankcase if you use a press!

Apologies as two questions really.
a) alinging tool for which I have found the part number for the official Kawasaki Aligning Tool. I will get the price.
b) pressing the crank back together
Thanks for the reply.

Pressing the crankshaft back together is a job best left for the experts.
Reassembling the cases requires love and patience and a soft rubber mallet.
