does anyone know if a set of forks and triple trees of of a 93 kx 250 will go onto an 89 kx 500 frame?? any help would be greatly appreciated as im trying to upgrade to the newer inverted forks.

Yes & No,
The trees and forks will fit but you have to swap the stem from the K5 to the K2.5 trees & have a bushing made for the top tree. Also keep in mind the K2.5 trees have less offset (which could be a good or bad thing depending on type of riding you do).

thanks for letting me know the forks are coming with the lower triple tree and the stem but no upper triple tree so i was wondering if my 500 top would work or would i have to get the 250 one and make a bushing, thanks for your feedback.

Turbo,
You need the K2.5 top tree also, the offset is different between the them.

okay thanks for the information, i will see if the forks come with the top tree or not if not i will watch for one i can pick up, how involved is it to make the bushing you were refering to?

thanks to everyone for the great info, i appreciate it.

i have a set of upper and lower tripple clamps from a 2002 kx 250 if they will work
-
im not sure if they will or not, i have and 89 kx 500 and the forks are from an 93 kx 250 but if they will work how much would you want for them?
-
The 93 forks are 43mm and too small for the clamps.
-
So you're the guy that got those forks I was watching on eBay? lol
I was thinking of swapping the conventional forks on my '89 250 with these '93 forks, but the auction had no top clamp, axle, or caliper, and I didn't know what all would swap over from my bike, so I left it alone.

yeah i kinda took a chance on buying them, i figured they came off a kawasaki so how hard could it be, i will let you know once i figure out what else i have to buy and how much the total was :-D
