anybody know of a place i can find one???
-
From what I have read Destry commenting on... Kawasaki only made a few of these for select factory bikes.... He sold one bike with this cover on it, so there is atleast one floating around somewhere... Another is on his personal #1 Kx500... others... dont know how many there actually were... Id like to get my grubby little hands on one as well...

yea and there,s doordie who has (had) ? one , a very nice one too,

If I remember the post correctly Doordie actually custom fabbed his own using a clear piece of Laxan, some drilling and tapping, and an O-ring to seal, very neat design, he did a great job.

Here's mine, I don't think I'd do it again, you have so few clutch problems with the 500.
-
do you want to sell it?

Agreed. A quick access clutch cover is only really needed on desert race bikes, and smaller 85-125cc bikes for a quick "between races" clutch pack swap.
If you consistantly need to abuse and feather a KX500 clutch you are flirting with disaster and death ! :)

Here's is a couple of shots of one of the 2 piece covers my brother made for the k5's our kids and riders are racing . This is by far the coolest one the others have solid metal covers.
-
are the five threaded bosses welded on to the OD of the stock clutch cover?
-
Yes they are, my brother made a jig the cover is bolted to, then the bosses are welded on. Then the whole top is cutoff to be used as the cover. The one in the picture was one of the first ones we did and screwed up the cut. So we cut it off level and made the cover out tinted lexan and alum. The other ones look completely stock except for the bosses and bolts

There have been more topic's about this.
Building them for billet, modify stocker, 250 from 89 or so.
Here 2 more topics about it.

I'm intreseted if a 250 would work??
What about using the whole 250 or 450 clutch. Inner-, outerhubs pressureplate. Then you could use aftermarket sets.

My way....

I'm surprised that nobody started offering to make the 2 piece clutch covers, I'd pay a good price for one. These covers offer-cool look, easy oil level view, oil condition view, easy clutch access, and oil drainability. I want one bad.
-
Anybody know where I can have one made?
-
what would you pay for one.
-
Give me a price and if it's not to high I'll have you make it.
-
I'd be interested in a price too...if it will fit the '86 lower end
-
Kaw rider, shoot me a number for the cover so we can come to a deal, I really want the cover.
-
Sorry this took so long but I just got ahold of JR and had a talk with him about the 2 piece covers. He said no problem he just did a banshee cover last month,2 piece -extended-see thru cover for a lockup. His website is bishopsmachineshop.com ,he said to just contact him there is no price for this service on the website yet and depending on how you want it built will determine the price(you know extra if you need the see thru cover) , but he comes highly recommended for all his services. Oh yea and raced a k5 for many years so who better to have working on them.thanks CBX

2 piece cover on the bike-locked & loaded ready to have its trigger pulled ,lets go racin CBX

There are many topic's about this. But I found something "NEW". Atleast for me.

It's a 2 piece cover and if you look further on the site. You can find a KX250SR clutchcover witch looks very much the same, besides the extra welded tube.
