Do you have a bit of slack in cable? Is the clutch arm moving, when you pull the lever? Its permanently in neutral? Give some more detail.

If you motor is not running and you put it in gear.
Can you feel it locking into his gears????
Could it be that the gear on the crank came loose, and there for it doesn't
turn the rest of the engine??
Rear Chain???? Sound stupid mabey.

Disconnect cable from engine. Does it roll while in gear? That would tell you if its inside or out. Possibly need to add slack with new cable in the cable adjustment.

 Like Hill #42 said.
With the clutch cable disconnected you should still be able to rock the bike back and forth and get her to shift through the gears.  Don't hammer on the shifter.    A little tug in either direction will get it to shift as the gears move.

There should be at least about the thickness of a nickle slack between the lever and the perch when you start to feel the slack taken out of the cable and disengage the clutch.

If that doesn't help...start working backwards...  through clutch, and unfortunately back through to the tranny.
