Okay... I have searched and read..... I have heard both..
http://www.kxriders.com/forums/index.php/topic,2708.0.html
Vforce 2 vs Vforce 3.... obviously the 3 is for the 250's.... is there a phisical size differance to where its going to unstuff the crank case per say..
If somone out there has PHYSICAL MEASUREMENTS.. that would be nice.... Im about to buy some reeds, and dont want the "unstuffing" affect the 3's may pose. As I hear they are narrower (width) than the delta 2's.... Straight off the bat (look at the links) I can see what I think is the restrictor plate everyone referes to...
here are the 3's..

and a link to the 2's..

I remember reeding somewhere that the SXI 750 reeds fit the KX.....
Looking at these. they seem to be them??

the kx250 v-3 work great with stock size carb. The v-3 for the jetski was made for bigger 44-48mm carbs.
-
i have seen reed selection really slow down a motor ,, to the tune of 20 hp ,,,i know the v2s work
-
INTERESTING..... if the 750 sxi stuff does fit.. .check out Item #6 from the top...

the r&d cage looks nice but the v-2 is a little better. if you have a dyno at your hands then dyno your combo with all the different cages.
The V-3 is longer so your covering up your boyensen ports.

Why don't you just call Moto Tassinari? They released the V3 for the CR500 this year with plans to improve it further still this coming year. I've spoken to them once, as have a couple other riders I'm aware of. They're friendly and happy to get a tech rep on the phone to answer questions. The V3 for the CR was improved upon in every conceivable way. Guys have ran them back to back with the V2 and approve of the new design.
Give them a call Motorrad...no reason to guess and speculate when you can get the straight answer from the horses mouth
-
I will give them a call tomarrow.... since they arnt open today...
Just somthing interesting I found though digging in my Dennis Kirk book..
the part number for the Delta 2 for the kx250 and the Kx500 are the SAME part number..... that being the case... I dont see why they would change the physical size of it for the delta 3 250 application and reduce volume...
There are several people on here that run the delta 3's.... hoping someone would chime in on how it fits volume wise
-
i have kx 250 v-3 in my motor and its alot narrower.
-
Not to high jack, but if anyone is interested pro circuit has the delta 2 v forces on sale for 89.99 :-D. I just ordered a set, you must order online.

Could someone tell me how thick the mating surface of the Vforce reed block is compared to the stock reed block? I am running the stock reed block with the reed spacer and its a tight fit. Is anyone running the Vforce and reed spacer combo? What the fit like?

Found another old post on the reed valve topic...

Stewart- I know you said that you know the V2s work, but have you by any chance ever ran or dyno'd a RAD? I still have stock reeds and the ol V2 vs RAD on the K5 mystery still seems unsolved unless I missed something in the past.

rad valve stands for ,,,release at dumpster ,, v2 stands for ,,,victory 2owner,,, every reed block that i have tried with every set of reed pedal setup nothing has given me the great results as the v2s ,,,, i think i have worn out the intake bolts trying diffrent reeds ,, my buddy helping me and the key pad saying.... stick with v2s,,,,i think the v2 reeds larger tip surface area is what makes it hard to beat,,, i tried reeds every way and design came to 1 conclusion the v2 was the standard i could not make close to the same power with any thing else ,, they are a real advantage,,,they are not a gimmick
-
Thats a good one. Especially since I just removed my Rad Valve and can't sell it to anyone. I am sold on V-force from what you have stated previously. Lots of different reeds out there, but its important to notice new products and newly developed ones. V-force is an innovator. There's no Rad-valve II or III that I know of. A buddy used a 12-petal mossbarger reed cage for years, only to later see that the cage stuck all the way into tranfer ports and almost completely blocked off both of the vertical ports. He still has the paperwork with all of the power increases that they were supposed to deliver.
When installing my new v-force, I noticed a problem with pointing the "V-Force" logo up. It ran into the intake or somethin' and had to point the logo down. Is that what happened to yours? Is there a better way to cut those tabs to ensure a flat mating surface? That seemed crazy hackin' on a part that I'm ready to re-install.
-
logo goes down ..just have to cut those ears right out off your life....
-
Kaw Rider thanks for that info greatly appreciated. Sounds like the V2 is the way to go. Someone posted a picture recently of a Vforce cage that got destroyed looked like it blew up. What was the story behind that?

Took me a while to find the picture. A Vforce reed block off a KX250.

-
rad valve . man i have not seen a set of them for 20 years . keep the force with you at all times. it works .
-
Thanks Charlie500, I just bought the LAST one from Procircuit. :-D Sounded like a good deal. :|
-
May the force be with you.
-
"Great...the force is........more powerful... my engine will be" Was that Yoda or Stewart that said that? 8-)
-
How much of a power difference is there between the V-force 2 and the RAD Valve?
-
Hey guys, Just got out and test rode the new V-Force Reeds for the 500. I had been running the Rad Valve with new petals, Uzi. I don't know if I could feel power difference. I had some trouble starting the k5, as it was only 40 degrees, she was pretty cold. I fattened the mixture screw, but was hesitant to really wind it out, since I didn't swap the main. What I did notice, was no raspy bottom. Before, right off the bottom, it had a rich sounding exhaust, but seemed to have power, and no noticable power shortage. Now, It sounds clean all the way through the rpm range. Stewart's right again. Imagine that. Great purchase for performance upgrade. The "reed timing" thread seems to suggest, any reeds that don't resist free-flow of fuel would be a rich condition, that would be near impossible to tune out.
Runs like a new one.... 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
