Danny Hammel grew up in Boulder City NV about ten minutes from my house in Henderson NV. I have grown up riding the same trails as him. Its a shame he had to go.

I heard he passed but still have not heard how. Can someone fill me in please? Thanks.

los angeles times news paper said this,,June 1995: Motorcyclist Danny Hamel, 23 years old and already a five-time Baja champion, has covered about 10 miles of the Baja 500 when an off-duty policeman steers a vehicle onto the course, hits him head-on and kills him immediately.

Awesome clip!!! A true legend. Hammel and Ward were my favorites. Watching Hammel ride that k5 wide open put chills down my spine. That is what the bike was designed to do. I dont think Hammel ever asked for a "rider friendly power or lug in low gear," KX500....

Cool video! My favorite part was at 1:49 when he was runnin tapped out past the camera man. Sad that hes not around anymore.
