purchased a used 1987 KX for $200 bucks, what a steal hugh ?

my efforts now are going to be going through this entire bike and replacing every seal, bearing, gasket, oil, coolant, nut and bolt, piston, etc

I have ridden bikes for years from Harleys to dirtbikes   :mrgreen:

I look forward to enjoying this website

Welcome to the site. It wont be long and you will be flying up the big dune at Bull Gap . My KX500 will wheelie the whole length of the hill in third gear,without a paddle tire. I believe yours should too.  Hope you're roosting soon.

Still been busy rebuilding this KX5 here when I get the time.  The previous owner(s) were hack's. Alot of parts were missing and/or put back together the wrong way.

Where do you live ?

Used to live in Brighton back in the late 80's....I miss that type of riding :(.  Good luck on the rebuild.

i used to live in Vestaburg when i was a kid, close to Alma and Mt. Pleasant. moved out west to Wyoming in 1982. still have the majority of family both sides there.  MADDOGGY
