It's more a mountain bike with an electric motor.

I just saw a shootout on some Green Channel with a YZF250.  The 250 won 3 out of 4 competitions with it.  But the show was a little partial to the electric bike (tree higgers and all) focusing on the gasoline engine flaws/etc of the YZ.  Like when the rider crashed and some fuel dripped out from the vent lines.  They zoomed in on that!

I read a thread on TT about a guy who converted a CRF250? to an electric bike.  He's really got something.  Full suspension/etc.

Full size electric bike...WITH range?  Then you'll have something.

Its an interesting bike, but it ain't no K5!  I think it has its place, but it isnt a repacement by any means.  7, grand is kinda pricey, too.

It does show that the battery technology is getting better which will help with the auto's! We can always run our KX5's on alcohol.......... :-D :-D :-D  One other thing about electrics, is that they make torque NOW!

this is my 7 year old sons motorcycle/bike. it really has suprising power. its only the normal bmx size but it has enough power to haul my 210 lb. fat butt around at a pretty good speed and tons of torque. for a kid, it is supposed to have like a 15 mile run time @ full speed. if it runs out of charge then it still has old school pedal power. it is a little on the heavy side and it's fast enough that i make him wear his dirtbike helmet. when he wrecks, the weight of it gives him the 40 grit sand paper treatment. he gets some gnarly road rash and its a struggle for him to get it back upright. my son's learning alot with it about how motorcycles handle and it's a bonus for me cause he's not wrecking a $2000.00 real dirtbike. maybe next spring he'll be ready for "the real thing". but for now it's been pretty sweet for him.   MADDOGGY
