Hey there...anyone have an autoclutch on their KX250? I'm thinking of getting one for trail riding, probably the EFM autoclutch. My left hand is whooped after 2 hours of slipping the clutch on trail rides. A lot of the trails out here (WA state) are technical and slippppppery.

i rode a ktm the other week which had a auto clutch, that was good fun, as the rear brake was where the clutch lever was, much like a mountain bike, bit strange to get used to but did'nt take long, made cornering alot more easy as you didnt have to dip clutch coming into an going out of corners

whats your gearing? and do you have a flywheel weight?

I'm the only one of my riding buddies that doesn't have one, but I hope to get one soon (and get the hand brake)

What part of Wa? I'm in Port Orchard, and if I had riding buddies, it might make getting my bike ride-ready more of a priority. I know there are tons of trails close to here... like Tahuya State Forest and Camp Speelman... but I havent ridden any of them.

whats your gearing? and do you have a flywheel weight?
Gearing is stock 13/48. I have a FWW...9oz. It helped with the traction but I easily could have gone heavier.

have you thought about trying a 50 or 51 tooth rear sprocket i have a 13/53 and it made a huge difference on the long rooty uphills. way less cluthing. you do loose a little top end but its great in the super tight single trak stuff.

Yeah I've been looking out for a 50T on ebay, but have not tried it yet. First gear is very tall on this bike. Thx for the suggestion........
Just curious what were you running before 13/53?

i had 14/49 then went to a 13/51

Look for new JC steel sprockets. Maybe not as light as aluminum, but last longer and half the price. Be aware that you will need a chain, if you don't have any slack in adjusters. Just bought a 50 and have a 47 on, but no slack in new chain to swap. Doh!!!!
