-
That's really nice. I have a Specialized mtn. bike and bmx cruiser. It really is a great way to train for the dirtbike.
-
i'm looking at getting the stumpjumper with the hydraulic brakes next but it will be awhile as it costs $1600.

I used to ride road bikes back in the day and I always found them fulfilling they work great for there intended purpose. I tried mountian biking for a while but it always seemed to be a dissappointment for it always seemed to be a compromise. I think mountain bikes do not weigh out in the fun verses risk factor. I don't see riding something that can potentially disable me that I have to push up a hill or pedal.

Very nice bike... I just picked one up last season. The hardest part now for me is getting my butt up and going for a ride. Almost everytime i ride when i hit the 20+ mile or so mark i cant help but think why the heck im doing this?? This thing should have a motor? What am i smoking?

Hence, the subject! :-P :-D

still breakin her in, but I've hit 65(indicated) so far. only 18 miles on it right now.

Hydration is an important part of any fitness regiment. When riding in hot temps. you can loose, thru sweat, 1 pint per hour. Gatorade works for some.............but this works for me.........................

health, home and then the extras!! the state paid for my roadbike, how bitchin is that? i'm going to have to foot the bill for the kx unfortunetly!!!

I use diet coke in my rum and coke .Besides I don't drink and ride I'm more responsible then that. I learned very young that it is hard not to spill a cocktail while riding so now I drink then ride.

Oh no.. not you too? "Roadie Scum" ? DH & FreeRide all the way man. Ditch the "Roadie" bike quick.... while you're still into women.
Dude... you can always put street-type tires on a MtnBike for training purposes.
Not only that... those roadie bikes can cause some SERIOUS carpel-tunnel... as well as REPRODUCTIVE problems. If you catch my drift.
Don't take my word for it?.... Google it.

yeah i know my perenium is sore already! but i like the non impact workout it provides. my body is so beat up from running 5-10miles every other day and being an infantry forward observer for nine years ie: carrying a pack that weighs 50 lbs and running through the woods. in my earlier days i was a serious bmxer and this is a natural extension of that.i basically tore the competion a new a hole everytime i raced i may even try a triathlon in an upcoming season but i'm a little behind in the swimming department. oh yeah i'm probably going to pick up where i left off with karate also i have had some run ins with that over the years when i lived in korea and such. i'm just experimenting with some old things and having a blast. :-D :-D :-D

so i haven't been on here in awhile. update i'm still riding this new roadbike and i have to say i made an excellent choice for a fitness tool! my asthma is getting better ie: i'm able to breathe better. and my whole body is getting stronger in particular my legs are so much stronger.
i'm still working on my kx but the snows coming and money is super tight so next spring definately will be riding. add someweight training to the mix and i'm going to be a beast on whatever bike i ride for sure!!!

Jeff Ward has always been a big time road cyclist. Here is a little quote from an interview he did for racer x this May.
" I also have a gym by Lake Matthews where I can train with guys or meet up and do some cycling with my riders. I?m excited to get started building programs for guys and working things out."
Oh yeah and he rode the 500 like nobodies business.
-
i aspire to be like jeff ward some day!!!
