Title: 1986 KX500 or 1991 KTM 500

Hey y'all,

There are couple bikes for sale in my area one is a 1986 kx500 and the other is a 1991 ktm 500. Both are in the $750 to $700 range in price, running bikes, that might need some tlc. The KX500 is in pretty good shape. Anyway, what are your thoughts on these bikes? Your opinions would be very helpfull on me making up my mind.

I would seriously weigh in parts availability.  I would think parts for an 86 KX would be hard to come by. But the KTM may not be much better. Deffinitely research that. I would.

Thanks G, I will deffinitely look into that. It seems like some folks are so quick to dump these old bikes for such a cheap price. To pick up an older open class bike for just a small amount, I guess could lead to a big headache in the future. I will need to research this more.
