Title: Fessin' up time! Gonna get nuked!
Post by: ShanMan on October 07, 2003, 04:14:39 PM: OK gang...as many of you know, I have had ole' KreX on the sales block for the two months or so. The original plan was to pick up a 2000 or newer KX5. Somewhere along the way however I started reading about the only other true big bore, the CR500. I did lots and lots of homework, and deduced that both bikes have their strengths and weaknesses. I took into consideration that I was going to be spending more time either singletracking or vet-tracking than I would be desert blitzing. So, when a good deal came up on a '98 CR500 with lots of goodies, I took it. <insert name calling here> I am still a huge fan of the KX500, and LOVE all the things it does better than any other bike. That said, I really, really like the way the CR500 handles. In a perfect work, I would have kept KreX as my exclusive dune bike, but money just isn't that plentiful, so I had to choose. I plan to lurk here, because this is still one of my favorite sites on the web, and occasionally there is still something I can offer. Sorry I left the fold (for now) but maybe we can still ride together if the opportunity ever arises? :)

Sounds like a seriously tasty plan...we are in for sure! Will you be camping near/on Gecko Road? I remember like Presidents Day last year where I saw a toy hauler or a trailer (don't remember now) with a huge die cut sticker on the back that rtead "got MonkeyButt?" i was wondering if that was you, Jeff and the crew. Either way, my wife likes to camp at Gecko, so that's where we will be. Let me know where you will be....should be a gas! :lol:

Last time my nephew fried a topend on his 250 trying to hang with the "dune daddy" :lol:

Actually, that is our really good friend Al (g2loveit). He is part of the Monkeybutt Crew 8) He has the toyhauler and gets to frequent the dunes a bit more than we do... :wink:

Hopefully, we can make it out sometime this year! Provided we aren't at the races every single weekend! :shock:

BTW-He'll be out at MM11.5 this weekend with the toyhauler if any are interested...

I wish!!!! :? We have a race that we are committed to that Sunday at Verde Valley and taking time off during the week is nearly impossible...but you never know! :mrgreen:
