%$##%$@#$%$$
I'm sick to ...kin death of trying to sort this out :-(
Why oh why, when I rev her up and let go the throttle, does she not slam shut the RPM?
Oh no, the dog rolls on for a second or two. Doesn't sound like a lot but it fekkin is when you're getting to the end of a road and stop means stop :-o
The boots either side the carb are in good condition.
The jetting is factory.
The fuel is fresh.
Spark plug new.
Air screw out 1.5 turns
Cable not sticking
HELP

sounds to me like a wornout/failing slide ?? :? ??
don,t know for sure but when slide closes up ,
the reving should return to idle .
i cannot figure something else for this issue
anyway when i,m wrong,
anyone feel free to jump in

Mine has a few extra bang......bang.... bang bangs.... too. Its the surging effect that is from the inertia of the crank. Always want to pull in the clutch to stop or the extra run-on will push you a little farther than wanted. This is as long as its closing properly to begin with. If it snaps back closed while parked. Dirt in the assembly, around the throttle tube, or gummed or worn slide will not be snappy, but you can feel that in the throttle with the bike off. Never use any cable lube on throttle cable either. It will run all that stuff into carb.

Thats just what the K5 does... there is no getting rid of it. Its from the vacuum caused by the large displacement. There is a post on here somewhere regarding this "surging". I'll try and hunt it down and post a link so you know its normal and you can rest your head about it.

I have talked many times about this "problem" and you got a few solutions...
Easy fix and not soo good, large idle jet and drown the surging, makes low performance at idling though!
Otherwise check up "overclosing" KIPS.Little harder to kickstart, but a good trade in my opinion.
Check for worn slide or worn carburator.
All this surging depends on ignition fire at BDC to "clean out" all mix of resisting fuel/air.
just my 2 cent! :-D

Call me nuts, but I like the surging... I feel like I'm riding a beast that just wants to GO GO GO!
