The Hodaka was a brand name, 2 models enduro, duel sport and moto x "Super Rat" both 100cc.
I have lots of old stuff some of it in my album "33 years in the dirt" including a video of my first moto in 1971 on my Montesa 250 capra.
The thing I find most interesting is the evolution of the 2 stroke.I grew up in Colorado and you could get your license on a scoter or motor cycle up to 150cc when you were 14. The 150cc assumed not more than 6 brake horsepower. That is a far cry from the power the 125cc bikes make today.
Alan :D
PS I just checked E- Bay There is a 74 Hodaka for sale!

Not to mention the stock KX500 make more horsepower at much less weight than a VW bettle (not the new one, the one we all had in high school  ) and the old Geo Turbo Sprint
