Title: 03 triple clamps on a 99 ?????

just wondering if there is a difference in mm from the 99 forks than the 03 forks.?

my buddy has a universal triple clamp set for an 03 kx250 and i was wondering if it would fit onto my 99.

03 was the 1st year for the 48mm forks. The clamps will be too big.

I think you'll need to change the stem and the clamp will work.  However, you'll need everything else: Fork tubes, caliper, wheel/axel.  Look around for a clamp set, I bought a complete Universal clamp set for my 2000 for $150 back in January from Motosport.
