What do you think?

The seller seems like a real a**hole and he doesnt come across well at all.

Should i stay away or is it actually ok - i know i would spend a fortune stripping and re-building it if i got it.

Opinions welcome

nice ride but one thing that is bit amateurlike

the guy only uses 50 % of his frontwave disc :?
my discs are in use for 90 % :-)

one with 2caliper roadbike brake
one with 4 caliper zxr636 tokico

Like KX500freak says very useless brakes(stock nissin) for real supermotard. :|
Disc is okay,320mm Braking....
I use a 4 caliper Braking brakes cost, around 400 euro to get real stopping force without overheat.
Otherwise a good looking bike! :-D

Disc is okay,320mm Braking...poor disc

i can put it even stronger
that bike is braking like s**t
the only thing happening is that the disc gets eaten by the brakepads
and eats pads like every race or so

pic is my street-k5 sm brake set up
look the way the pads use the disc and compare

He looks like he might me mentally challenged too:

hahaha :-D

he,s a bit strange lookin, indeed :?
give the guy a change to tell over /about the bike
you,ll know if its a real retard...or just his face not working with him...... :|

i guess even my mum would see the issue on that frontbrake
so i think he never went racing with that bike
cus at race track you have instant comment/advice from other riders
and sure someone would notice that lousy setup

Garage kept.....outside in the rain?

Girlfriend house kept......outside in the rain?

No title........Hmmmmm?

No brakes.

Seller sportin' an attitude......so what, you're not there to make friends.

I'd offer less than you mentioned, just to see him get lit up.  That way if you dont buy it, at least you got some entertainment.

Seriously, if you score it cheap enough, it would be worth it.  Keep us posted.

Thats what i thought too - he said it was an alloy KX250 frame.

I guess that it makes it easier to botch job weld if cracks appear after the conversion.

I really need to get a close look at it - it's just that i dont live near - so its less than convenient to do it.

I think if i offered him ?1800 he would'nt bother emailing back!

What are the main differences between the older and the newer engines.... i need more bargaining tools than the front brake!

He said that he's sending me the frame and engine numbers so i can check the YOM of both items.

I do like the idea of another hybrid though..... If he sold it for under ?2000 and i was able to vet it: i would definately say yes.

He's just emailed me saying:
Quote
the frame number is: akx250mmaa001142 and the engine i need to take the zorst off and i cant be bothered, its deff 92

I've emailed Kawasaki to check the age of the frame - and i could believe him if he says '92 as its an older gen. engine.

I've offered him ?2200 but would prefer ?2000 as it allows me to get there and back to get the bike!

what do you think?

Oh- and because its a conversion, does it mean i cant fit a new expansion chamber to it?

I've got a FMF gnarly on the CR5 hybrid - probably just luck though!

The exhaust on the bike looks knackered  :-(

you said you can ,t wait to tear her apart,
and give it a full blown re-build :-o

i,d say go for it then

bout the knackered pipe,
you mean that muffler correct?
if it ,s on good order i,d say use it ,
or is it the looks of it ,you don,t like?

keep us posted  :-P

oops - i meant the expansion chamber.

the plan would be to take it off and put a nice shiny new FMF one on.

Oh - and are there any known problems, or ailements with the older gen engines?
Whats the difference between the older and newer ones?

 :-)
