My name is Mike, I have an 86 KX 500 that I got a great deal on. I came off an XR 650r. I really needed a bike with a lot of power because I'm 6' 280lbs. I love my KX

I just sold my 86 and bought a 94. I have done the following with it so far:
1.  FMF Gnarly pipe
2. PC Spark arrestor (92 decibles @ sound check)
3. V Force reeds
4. Moose Torque spacer
5. Works Connection radiator braces and frame guards
6. JN Innovations racing suspension work
7. Michelin S-12 tires front and rear
8. Pro Taper bars (CR Hi bend)
9. Cycra handguards
Looking to add the following items: IMS 3.4 gal gas tank and Pro Series footpegs. Possibly a Scott's steering stabilizer. I run Unical 76 110 mixed 50/50 with premium.

What? No glide/skid plate? I highly recm'nd a "Skid" plate w/ case-pump protection.

Sounds like a well set-up bike!

Welcome!

Ditto. I highly recommend the DG Baja plate (http://www.online-motorcycle-parts.com/motorcycle_parts/dg_motorcycle_exhaust/dg_exhaust_extras/baja_skid_plates/baja_skid_plates.shtml). Very thick, well built and tough as a $2 steak
