Title: Scott Sheak
Post by: mikesmith on September 22, 2003, 08:35:19 PM
I cant remember who it was a year or so ago who raced the open pro class at Mammoth Mtn on a KX500 and placed 2nd or 3rd,but this year I just found Scott Sheak finished 3rd in the Open Pro at Mammoth on a KX500.It just goes to show the 500 isnt just the best at Desert but can still Moto.It makes me wonder if the open class wasnt dead and Kawasaki put a little R&D into it how fast the big KX would be?It shure says a lot for the origanal K5.

2-stroke tech. has had some limited advances; However, the K5 with its's KIPS system is about as advanced as "Production" mechanicals ever got. Well, there were the "Realtime-Adjustable" cylinder-domes...

Now, ignition technology is another thing! That's where we've been left behind!
