I got to wondering where Danger was, so I checked up on him!
I just talked to David aka Danger and he is iced in without power up in Oklahoma! He says he may be back on line tonight.....

Whew, 6 days with no utility power. I did get a generator at the end of day 2. I didn't take the time to wire it into the house because I thought any day the elc. will come on. Heat was not a problem because I have a stand alone wood burning fire place, a free standing propane heater and a small wall mounted natural gas heater by the laundry room. I just used extension cords through the back door of the house. I just acted like I was camping at the dunes. The only real problem for me was no running water because I'm on well water. So now it's been 12 hour days at work starting Sat. the 15th. We're thinking if we do 12 hour days until Sun. the 23rd we can get caught up. I knew the power company was telling everyone "Might be 10 more days" because they were tired of all the calls.
Thanks for the call Alan,
Danger4u2 aka David J.

Good to hear from you David! I guess we aren't as high tech as we think we are!  :x  I hear Photovoltaic's are going to get really cheap in the next 5 years. You may want to go totally off grid one of these days and get a check from the electric company!
Great to have you back! :-) :-)

Danger , I have one generator that is dedicated to just running my deep well pump, I use my motorhome generator to do the lights. Luckily I dont need this very often, but it's nice to be able to get by in an emergency. I am glad you were able to survive.
Someone here will probably figure out a way to connect a generator to the KX500 chain and connect it to the utility grid. Once they rev up the mighty 500 half the state will have a blackout from major power surge. LOL.
Welcome back.
