maybe you guys can help. i recently blew the main bearing in the bottom en to shreds, it is totally gone theres about a half inch of play up and down.so i went to the shop to price parts and there is a full bottom end kit. so my question is do i just slap this assembly in or do i have to ensure balancing? i'm not to sure if there is a high performance assembly? also i'm not sure if i need to replace seals and gaskets i had tranny fluid coming out the bottom so i'm sure i'll have to replace various seals or gaskets.

going through the same thing but a 99 kx250.
for parts i'd go to motosport.com alot cheaper than most shops.
i blew a rod bearing, i bought the complete top and bottom rebuild for about 400.00 for everything shipped.
no i just have to put it all together.
i dont think theres much to the balencing.

You mean the bearing on the bottom end of the rod at the crank OR the crank (2) bearings in the case that holds the crank? Might (75% must unless money is an issue) want to replace the (2) main crank bearings and seals in the case since the wear from the damage more than likely added too much wear on these parts.

This include a crank assembly too?? If not, better take stock the crank to a builder to have it spec'd and check for true/damage or you gunna be throwin' your money away on the top-end parts.
or do i have to ensure balancing?
If this kit you are talking about has a crank/rod/reciprocating bearings/and piston together then they are probably balanced to each other. If you are talking just getting assorted parts then balancing is not really a big issue as much as making sure the stock crank, if being reused, is true/not damaged.

i never thought about the bearings that hold the crank in the cases. they are sure to be toast. anybody got an extra 500 motor i can have. i can use the 250 motor and build a motorized blender haha.
359.99 for a complete top and bottom end rebuild comes with everything, talk to them over the phone their really cool, and easy to work with.
