Title: 1991 KX 125 H2 Rear Shock length or newer shock compatibility?
Post by: 2 smoke juan on October 17, 2007, 11:43:00 AM
Looking for info regarding a rear shock for a 1991 KX 125 H2 model.

Had a search on the forum but can't find what i'm looking for.

Can anyone tell me the length of the rear shock on this bike eye to eye? Do any other model year KX shocks fit the 1990/1991 (H1-H2's)?

I have been offered a used Ohlins from a KX 250 - but the guy is unsure what year it is except that it is early 90's. He's asked me to measure my shock eye to eye but i haven't had a chance to get the shock of the bike yet - hoping someone on here will know? :?

Obviosuly valving will be different but what i need to know is will a 92/93 or 94-on shock phsically fit a H2 model 125? I am unsure as i thought they changed the linkage on the 92 models plus the shock tower is integral to the frame on the 92 which replaced the removable shock mounts the 90 and 91 125's had.

Cheers in advance

Ewan

Cheers for that.

I know there are plenty of shocks on e-bay just now - search for H2 parts every second day.

My original shock is perfect, the bike was only used for two seasons and has been stored since - i was offered a used Ohlins of an early to mid 90's KX 250 and that why i queried shock length - the seller wasn't sure what KX it came off.

Having looked at the online parts fiche i'm not convinced that even if it has the same eye to eye length as the stock 91 shock that it will fit - different part numbers for top and bottom shock mounts and reservoirs from 91 through to 94 - so think i will gice it a miss.

Cheers for your efforts, good guy.
