I'm new to the forums. Hope to be able to use the wealth of info here to fix and maintain my bike. I ride a 1987 KX 500. It's the perfect bike for me as I live out in the wide open desert.

The bike was kinda trashed when I got it but I'm slowly being it back up to where it should be. Now that the motor went out, I'll get a chance to pull the whole thing apart and paint everything and make the bike like new again.

Welcome Scargoes,
 There are lots of guys on here with 87's so you should be able to find lots of good info.  good to have you aboard. Cam.
