The VIN on my frame by the steering head is obscured by some reinforcing gussets that have been welded on, and I have no ownerships for the bike (bill of sale only), I do however have the VIN from the engine cases, so assuming the bike has the original engine in it, how would I go about matching the engine VIN to a chassis VIN so I can go get plates and insurance to go trail riding!

kawasaki of America can do it. Call their customer service number and tell them you want to look up a VIN number and give them the engine number. I bought a bike out of state, and the owner could only "find" the vin number, which happened to be the engine number, so they were the ones who gave me the real VIN
