Title: dead horse
Post by: BDI on August 20, 2007, 04:41:55 PM
I see a lot of dead horses getting beaten around here I sure would like to see some new and informative topics. I know cutting edge kx500 stuff Is hard to come by but some one has to be doing something cool to talk about and share. where's all the cool one off billet this and thats? what about a custom one off something or other. Anything thing would be better than cast versus forged to be honest who gives a rat's ars we could argue for ever about crap like this and untill some one has gained enough experience to form their own opinion on the subject we are just beating are head on the wall and by the time that happens most of us probably will not be on this forum anymore so why bother. Its like talking about jetting again and agian and again Has any one fuel injected a kx500 or anything cool like that. At this point anodized green spoke nipples would turn me on.

OK, for something different, here's a KX 1000 I built, it's a 2000 k5 chassis and a 2004 zx-10 motor, puts out about 160 hp and is supposed to do 100 mph in 1st gear, in the stock chassis

That IS nasty!

BDI, call Ron Baker at PEP suspension. He fuel injected a 88 KX5 and stuck it in a Tecate chassis.

Not exactly a KX500 but if you like billet, cool, and stupid fast, here ya go.  Billet/carbon fiber chassis, 320 HP billet engine with billet carbs.  Oh yeah,....it's fast!

I managed to get a few pics for this thread, but can't figure out how to post them. I used my camera phone and have them in My Pictures, but thats as far as I got so far. How do you post them here? I found the add'tl options at the bottom here, but it won't work for me. What do I need to do?

Is the webpage saying the pics are too big?

If so open them in ms paint, go to image, then stretch/skew and type in 50 for the first two values. This will resize your pictures and you should be able to post them.

If you ever want to see ingenuity at its best, take in a hillclimb, there are some uniqe bikes. I've seen a rear wheelthat had shovels welded to it in the place of a tire, talk about scary, then there was a 3 cylinder WWII drone motor stuck in a bike frame, a serious bunch of innovators, seems like its more of a northern sport, maybe hillclimbers have to much time on there hands during those long cold winter months. Even the kids take it serious the attached picture is a YZ 85 extended, running a paddle tire and if you look closely by his left leg you'll see the nitrous bottle.

It says that I am using a bmp file, and that is not allowed. It lists what files are, but I am not sure how to change the format. I have some hillclimb innovations, but am stuck with computer frustrations!! :? Once again, I need some input guys.

This is just a small portion of the bikes in Thomas Racing's shop. Thats as many as a camera phone is going to get. I was going to post current projects, but he was not there to give the nod. I don't know who's bikes are on the benches set-up for fabrication, so I'll try to get some better pics, when I'm sure its OK.
I may have enough time in posting these pics to actually have fab'd a bike myself. Its much easier being a hillclimber than a computer geek, thats for sure.
