I own a 1999 kx250, and i really love it, it has black plastics and i think it looks bad ass. i wish i had people to ride with around here. A lot of the guys here do desert riding but i don't have a desert gas tank so i ride on a track nearby. hope i can contact some of you.

Welcome. Sounds like you need to save some cash for the desert tank.

Don't worry, as you get older you won't need a bigger tank you will need sorter rides and longer breaks!
Welcome to the site! :-D

Man is Alan right. I used the "I'm low on gas" excuse this last weekend to take a break.

The thing is that i can't really keep up with the four stroke riding guys in the open desert, plus it is not comfortable carrying a backpack with gas (dangerous and heavy) these can do about 100 miles on one tank, i'm seriously thinking on getting a four stroke, does anybody know if desert kawis are as good as the crf? everybody races crf's in baja.

KX500 and watch em be spitting out the roost you gave em!

Welcome to the site, hope you find a desert tank soon. Maier used to make a handle bar crossbar mounted one quart fuel tank. Someone made a numberplate tank too. Madkaw is right, get a KX500 and the fourstroke guys will wish for tight trails so they can catch up.
Here in Michigan we have an extensive trail system. All trails are mapped, marked, legal and most get groomed. The Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan is responsible for lobbying, laying out and grooming our trails. Maybe your state has a similar group.

Where do you live? My KX is almost activated and I will need to find some riding buddies as well.
