Alright guys have an easy one for you kaw experts. I have a 97 k5 and am trying to get the right model of 250 fender for the "racey" look of the straight fender.
I have tried the 91, which bolts up, but my seat is short about 2 1/2 inches.
I hv tried the 92, which would work, except the fender is built out at the rear mount for the sub-frame.
I just received my 93 fender today and it is the same fender as the 92.
I know this is a common topic on here, but I am sure the conversations always said 93 with some cutting around the airbox. What about around the silencer and where it mounts to the rear of the sub-frame?
I have seen on here where guys are zip-tieing a 250 back half to a 500 front half, which seems easy enough, but when I bought this bike, it had a straight fender and was not hacked up around the back.
What's the deal, did my guys not send me a 93 fender or what?

Not tried it myself as the bend holds my road licence plate at almost the right angle but I heard it was the 93 with some cutting as well :?

You'll have to trim where it hits the airbox and drill a new hole where it bolts to the sub-frame next to the muffler. Just mock it up there and you'll see.

Thanx, headin to the shop to see what I can do.
License plate? Wow k5 on the pavement, all hook-up. Scary thought! How do you do on gas w/ that?

Alright! Arigato, thanx again. As you can see it is the 93. (or also 92 is the same). Just had to squeeze the heck out of it! Was able to put it together with a little persuasion, and also posted pic! later!

You can go Cam?s way to,look at his gallery "bike mods".
Use both old fender and cut it and the new one too.
(I got one straight from KX250-01 on my iceroadracer)

Big petrol tank and expensive on fuel, especially over in the UK with our petrol prices :-(

Checkout Fuiously's post about it. He has it completely figured out. I got mine on there no problem. I trimmed it up a little around silencer and squeezed it between the subframe, drilled new holes in the fender and voila, its now even cooler!!!! I was able to do it with out any mods to seat. Later!
