Title: water pump seal

Hello,I am trying to change my water pump seal on my 1987 kx500.I have pulled the clutch cover but i cant get the water pump shaft and bearings out.I got the seal on the outside to come out but is there another seal that needs to be replaced on the inside?

I've done this repair on my 93 and ASSUMING that things are the same with yours, there is only one seal.  It's towards the outside (impeller) of the shaft.  Also check the bearings.  If they are loose, you are only going to end up replacing that seal again real soon.  Also check the gear on the end of the shaft for missing/damaged teeth.  Check the drive gear on the end of the crank for the same.  If that gear needs replacing, you are in for some REAL fun!!
