Howdy
Ca anyone please tell me if the Clymer manual gives step by step instructions and pictures etc on how to replace a crank seal for the beast of all beasts! ?
-
KiwiKx,
It's outlined fairly well with pics in chapter 5, pages 194-201.
Good luck with the beast. I just rebuilt a 97 K5 from the bone yard and relied heavily on the Clymer manual. Well worth the 25 bucks or so.

Cheerz redlined_KX500 for the "Heads Up"
Kawai dealer here in New Zealand quoted 8 hrs to replace the crank seal, presume he meant motor still in the bike, another motorbike shop quoted me 6 !/2 hours with thge motor out at $55 an hour.
Need now to get hold of a cylmer manual and have a look at difficulty.
$100 here for the manual lolol but should still be worth it.

I have the clymer manual and its well worth buying anyway, I prefer them to Haynes manuals.
