Title: Need some help....blubbering
Post by: flyingw on June 21, 2003, 03:35:39 AM
HI guys, I run the "old" and original KX500 web site.  I needs some help.   Question, my neighbor bought my 89 KX500, he put a new head gasket on and it fires right up, no leaks, but it blubbers bad under load. You can sit in neutral and rev it, no problem, but in gear it runs lousey and uses a ton of fuel! Ideas? :?

Thanks

PJ

PS Nice Site!

It seems to only happen unber load across the whole range of throttle.  We are going to check the power valve this week, and see what is up.   I'll keep everyone up to date.

:D   UPDATE ...Sure enough, pulled the side cover off of the power valve, and things were loose in there, lost the e clip.  Next time your bike runs with no power, check the power valve assembly.

Thanks
