I have been thinking about putting a 285cc bigbore kit on my 07 kx250.Has anybody on here ever done this and if so how do you like it.I have been looking on the web here,so far the only outfit i have found is max powers(rpm).Cost is about 1100 bucks american. Is there any other repuatable outfits out there, cheaper maybe or is max power it.I ride and race in the bush,i figured more power to haul my big carcaus around couldnt hurt.

I've been considering the same thing. I've seen other places which will do a big bore, but I'm worried about reliability. Is parts available to freshen the top end when needed? I'm just trying to get educated.

Contact moto814. Very good work.

i made my 89 kx250 into a 295cc big bore kit and loved it

Eric Gorr used to do 310 kits for the KX's. Contact him, he may still have some laying around.

You would remove the powervalve for that correct? I think thats a waste IMO.

It's been awhile since I looked into it, but last I checked it still had the powervalves. Just cut and modified.
And there is no replacement for displacement.

That is true, but i've heard that the power can get useless. I've never really heard about a kx 310, but i heard the Cr330 was a top end screamer, and very hard to control. I dont really need all that, and would just stick with a 285 kit. Just my take on the situation.

310 kit retains the powervalve with slight mod.sleeve gets bored close to cylinder studs but no problems there.head chamber will have to be opened up to fit bore and squish rewoked.ports need to be redone(shapes and widened because of the bore).working on one now with the addition of a long rod and spacer plate.once decked and ported correctly and fitted with right pipe design,it should get with the program.

Heard of a KX500??

The whole idea of a bigbore 250 is that you get new tech handling, better suspension, newer styling not the old school look, handling tank like a 500.I have owned them and they are great in the open and for hills, but to big and slower handling for the bush.Thats why
