I am new her and wanted to introduce myself , My name is Mike , I live in Crystal River , FL , am a 24yearold business owner who loves to ride ,let me rephrase that i live to ride , have had many bike since i was 10 the best of course being the kawi's. I have a garage full of forgotten toys 82 it175 , 82 trimoto 175 ,83 atc185s , but the machine i ride all the time is my beloved 1998 KX250 , i love the bike when i was 16 i had a 91 kx250 and have been hooked on the green machines since .
Ohh and btw i will never ride a 4 stroke , 2 stroker for life (or until they quit making parts for them anyway) hope thats never . :-D :-D

Welcome Mike. This is a great site for conversation and information. I have a KX500 and like two strokes also. I have two reasons for liking two strokes. One is that so many people (they now own four strokes) are unable to keep such a simple machine running, I get a big kick showing off how well mine starts and showing off, that it never fouls plugs. Many people I know have switched to four strokes because they were unable to understand the two stroke bike, so I view the four stroke as an escape for ignorant people but I mean no disrespect for the actual four stroke motor. The other reason is that the tree huggers have lobbied the government into pressuring the manufacturors into discontinuing the two stroke. Racing rules were adjusted, sponsership dollars shifted until racing a two stroke seems a disadvantage. I dislike this form of government control but I am not against keeping the ecology clean.
It is unlikely two strokes will become illegal and parts may become scarce but will always be found if you look hard enough. And someday I will probably forget what I said before and show off my 2027 Four stoke bike with 100hp that weighs 200lbs wet.
